• On May 28th, which is World Menstrual Hygiene Day, various groups in Abuja, Nigeria collaborated to raise awareness about menstrual health and hygiene. The event, organized by the Society for the Empowerment of Young Persons (SEYP), aimed to educate and empower women and girls on proper menstrual management practices.

• The event featured panel discussions, interactive sessions, and the distribution of free sanitary pads to participants. Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of breaking the silence around menstruation and addressing the stigma and taboos that often surround it, especially in developing countries like Nigeria.

• Organizers of the event stressed the need for improved access to menstrual products, as well as the integration of menstrual health education into school curriculums. They also called for increased collaboration between government, civil society, and the private sector to ensure that all women and girls have the resources and knowledge to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence.
