(KOLO) -The city of Reno is scheduled Wednesday to consider a $250,000 legal settlement after police shot a Black Lives Matter protest legal observer in Reno three times with a non-lethal weapon called pepper balls. The Reno City Attorney’s Office recommends that the Reno City Council approve the $250,000 settlement with Rebecca Gasca from the May 30, 2020, protest in Reno following the George Floyd murder at the hands of Minneapolis police officers. The city of Reno defended itself by saying Gasca’s injuries were caused by her own intentional or negligent actions
