In 1999, Bruce Campbell decided that he was going to make good on that, but had no idea how to do so, so he hired a salvage yard to help find him an aircraft.After months of looking, the salvage company found Campbells Boeing 727, a 200-passenger jetliner, which was 1,066 square feet and about 70,000 pounds.It also cost another $20,000 to move the aircraft across roads in suburban communities outside of Portland, requiring removal of the jets engines as well.Bruce Campbell added a makeshift shower, makeshift sink, a hand-cranked laundry machine, a cooler, and a grocery cart from another plane, which served as his pantry.Bruce Campbell now spends his time rebuilding older computer systems, fixing various electrical systems in the aircraft, and having people visit and take tours in his airplanes."
